Magna Carta Primary Academy
Magna Carta Primary Academy is a one form entry school in the historic village of Stansted Mountfitchet. The school opened in 2016 and moved to a permanent building in September 2018. There are currently three classes from Reception to Year 2.
Pupils are taught a knowledge-rich curriculum in depth and are given the time and space to truly learn. The curriculum is driven by: developing knowledge of the world; inspiring enterprise and aspiration; promoting investigation and enquiry; and having a local, national and global perspective.
At Magna Carta, pupils are not referred to as being of higher or lower ability. Nobody knows what another person is capable of achieving; not even the person themselves. For this reason, learning tasks are not differentiated by simplifying the curriculum. Instead, teachers plan with the highest expectations in mind. This means they have high expectations of all pupils.
The school community are asked to adhere to three school rules: be safe; be kind; and work hard. Much time is spent through the formal curriculum as well as through assemblies, to model and teach pupils to follow these rules.
Parents are a child's first and most important teachers. Staff at Magna Carta- from the chef to the teachers; and from the co-educators to the site team- support parents in helping to educate their children.
The school's first Ofsted inspection is expected during the 2018/19 academic year.
